Osaka solo exhibition "HOPE" December 2021
This is Yamashita's long-awaited solo exhibition in Osaka, his first in about six years. Yamashita's works, which depict dynamic moments, are filled with a strong vitality, but at the same time, they also contain a sadness that ends in an instant. I chose the title "HOPE" to express my hope that these things will last forever, even though I know they are fleeting.

Highlights of the exhibition
This is Yamashita's long-awaited Osaka solo exhibition, his first in about six years. Yamashita says that his paintings, which appear to depict strong vitality, often also coexist with sadness that ends in an instant. The title expresses the hope that something will last forever, even though we know it is fleeting. While keeping the theme of dynamism, this will be an opportunity to enjoy his current form, in which his range of expression is greatly expanding. In addition to works with athletes as a motif, the Blue Ocean series, which depicts the dynamic sea of Shonan, where the artist's studio is located, will be on display for the first time. As a new attempt, a collaborative work depicting the world of the manga "Kingdom" in Yamashita's unique style is also planned to be exhibited.
Related products such as a collection of works produced to commemorate this exhibition, giclee posters, and art books will also be available for purchase.
